31日は朝からすごい大雪
バスもカーブを曲がりきれず皆で雪かき状態
近所の教会。「今日のマス(日曜日のお祈り)は大雪の為キャンセルになったのよー」車でタリクに突進してきたおばさんが教えてくれた。

Holiday in Toronto was great. Spent lots of time with Tariq’s family, met family friends at some wedding parties, went to Brian’s Christmas party, went to a nail salon and shopping for clothes, Korean barbecue and Japanese all you can eat buffet dinner etc.
Also we played a lot with our nephew Adam at home. We played with his toy cars, read books to each other, watched his favorite shows on TV and made a ginger bread house.
I don’t think he spoke much when I saw him last time in August but now thank god he is a nonstop talker. It’s amazing that kids can grow so fast.
Besides now Adam is a how-come monster. He sees me wearing necklace and ask me ‘Wha tee that?’ I say ‘ Oh it’s a necklace’ and he would say ‘ How come?’ Then he asked me the same question to my earrings, hair dryer, my cosmetic stuff, laptop, and all the things he saw in the house.
How come I wear necklace? How the hell would I know? Should I explain to him I wear necklace because I like jewelries? or because I want to look nice?
One of my favorite songs used in Miyazaki’s film ‘Kiki’s delivery services’, there is a song called ‘Yasasisa ni tsutsumaretanara’ - やさしさに包まれたなら. You wouldn’t be able to listen to this song in the English version Kiki’s delivery service DVD and I think that is soo wrong as all the good effects of her songs on this film is totally missing . But anyways in that song, there is a phrase in the lyrics goes, ‘ Everything you see is a message’
The lyrics are about your childhood, how pure you were, you had soft heart and dreams, and you believed whatever happened to you was some kind of magic or miracles.
When I was with Adam he reminded me of this song particularly this phrase. And I realized that ah whatever he sees is a message to him! He is totally innocent, pure, simple and he has wonders and endless curiosity about whatever he sees. All that elements make him cuter and make him say how-come? all the time I think.
What am I trying to say? I don’t know. All I wanted to say was Adam and all the kids are cute as they were pure. What about grown-up?
先週の土曜日は、こっちでお友達になったクミさんのお誘いで、ファッションショーを見に行ってきた。
ウィニペグで活躍する3人のデザイナーさんが共同で開いたイベントみたいで、なんと会場はダウンタウンにあるゲイクラブ!
私はまだストリップバーもゲイバーも行った事がないので、誘われた時は「え?ゲイバーっすか?」って感じでちょっと迷ったけど、もちろんこんなチャンスはないし、ファッションショーに興味があったから行くことに決定。
まず始めに登場したモデルはマッチョな体のアフリカ系の男の人で、いきなり全裸か?と思いきや、ちっちゃなピタピタブリーフパンツのみの素敵な格好で登場。きゃーどこ見たらいいんやろ??って、そんな恥ずかしい思いをしてるのはきっと私とクミさんだけで、後ろに座っていた男性郡からは黄色い喚声?が飛び交っていた。「わーお!」「いいぞー!」「犬の遠吠えの泣き声」「セクシー! 」「もっと見せろー!」明らかにファッションとは関係ないかけ声がやけにおもしろかった。
他のモデルさん達はごく一般の人っぽいモデルさん達で、背のちっちゃい人もいれば、ぼっちゃり体系な人もいればで、お腹が出てようと、どこが太かろうと、大胆に露出してデザイナーの作った服を綺麗に着こなしていた。しかも音楽に合わせてランウェイを歩く中、カメラに向かってかっこよくポーズをきめたり、観客にかわいく愛想ふりまいたりできる表現力はさすがカナダっ子だなーって思った。ファッションショーの規模としては本当に小さなイベントだったけど、モデルさん達のパフォーマンスと、ばっちりメーク(多分MAC!)＆個性的なヘアスタイルと、かわいいデザイナーの服が全てしっかりマッチしていて、トータル的には大満足できたイベントだったと思う。
あーまた行きたいな! なんかおもしろいイベントないかなー。
あともう少しでクリスマスやから楽しいこといっぱいやろうけど、お正月が近付くとまた日本のお正月が恋しい病にかかりそうな気もするなーー。
タリちゃんと寂しくお正月ごっこでもしようかな。
